Alden Galdamez is a Program Manager for After School All Stars Las Vegas. He joined the team in late 2020 with a passion for providing better opportunities for youth. He was born in Guatemala and grew up in East Los Angeles, CA. While pursuing his Bachelor’s degree, Alden held the position of a Counselor Assistant at a Preparatory Academy in San Diego, CA while taking on a full course load. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Human Development with a minor in Psychology from the University of San Diego, CA, he quickly entered the social services field as a Foster Care Social Worker. As a foster care social worker in the Los Angeles area for many years he worked closely with at-risk youth, their families, and the community. He worked in collaboration with school officials and county workers to ensure the well-being, safety, and the opportunity for a more prosperous future for youth.

As he strengthened skills and developed more experience, Alden came to serve as a Quality Assurance Coordinator for a foster care and family adoption agency. By assuming this position, Alden became more familiar with State and County guidelines, as well as, audit processes.

Alden then relocated to Las Vegas, NV in 2018 where he took on the role of a non-medical case manager intake specialist for the Ryan White program serving an underrepresented population. Within a year of growing into his position and familiarizing himself with the community, he ascended to a supervisory position where he had the privilege of overseeing the Nevada Medication Assistance Program (NMAP) through the Ryan White federal grant. Alden has been living in the Las Vegas area with his wife, young daughter, pet dog, two birds, and two turtles. During his leisure time, Alden enjoys exploring the Nevada wilderness with his family, playing video games, skateboarding, and hiking.
