All-Star Dodgeball Tournament

Teams Invited to Compete for a Cause February 21

WHAT: After-School All-Stars Las Vegas (ASAS) kicks off a year-long celebration of its 20th year of service in southern Nevada with a fun-filled, first-of-its-kind Dodgeball Tournament at the Mendenhall Center at University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) on Saturday, Feb. 21. The organization invites locals to gather a team, throw on a fun costume, and compete for the cause of supporting underserved children in southern Nevada. Teams must have at least two women with a minimum of six players and a maximum of 10. Entry fee for corporate teams is $500 while community teams (non-profit organizations, groups of friends) may enter for $250.  Spectators are welcome and encouraged.  VIP tickets are $40 and include a private viewing area, food and beverage. General admission tickets are $20 each.  Children 12 and under are free.  All proceeds support After-School All-Stars’ free, comprehensive after-school academic and enrichment programs for more than 5,500 underprivileged students at 13 Clark County School District at-risk elementary and middle schools.

Local KLUC 98.5 personality, Chet Buchanan, will host the competition sponsored by the National Dodgeball League, UNLV Athletics and Findlay Toyota. Several teams have already formed and challenges have been issued from such companies as Multimedia Games; Niche Media; Glencoe Management (Burger King); Skye (T-Mobile), Las Vegas Bootcamp and all Morton Group restaurants, including La Cave, La Comida and Crush.
