Program Evaluation
After-School All-Stars Las Vegas partners with UNLV’s Center for Research, Evaluation, and Assessment (CREA) to conduct a yearly evaluation of our programs, ensuring that every student receives the highest quality after-school experience possible.
Our theory of change is built on three pillars: Academics, Enrichment, and Health & Fitness. It is grounded in the belief that students who regularly participate in a safe, structured, and engaging after-school environment will experience academic, social, and emotional improvements.
Together with UNLV CREA, we developed a logic model that guides our continuous improvement efforts. This model links our program investments to key outcomes, including:
Improved academic performance and attendance
Growth in social-emotional learning skills
Increased student voice, engagement, and satisfaction
Stronger sense of belonging and safety among students and families
Through this ongoing evaluation, ASAS Las Vegas utilizes data to celebrate successes, identify growth opportunities, and ensure that our programs continue to help students succeed in school and in life.
The Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA), developed by the David P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality, is a nationally recognized tool that helps after-school and youth programs improve their practices. The YPQA focuses on creating safe, supportive, and engaging environments that foster positive youth development. By using the YPQA, programs can be assessed for strengths, identify areas for growth, and ensure that young people have meaningful opportunities to learn, lead, and thrive.
